Spanish coast

It is known that Spanish coast has been divided into 10 ‘costas’, that is, pieces of shoreline from one point to another. Maybe the most beautiful Spanish costa is Costa Brava in Catalonia, stretching in area of town of Girona till French border. Rugged, with lot of small coves, its most ‘Mediterranean’ Spanish coast. Great places for sailing and discovering few intact fishing villages of Catalonia. The coast with best climate is Costa Calida, or ‘Hot Coast’. You can still find there few quiet beaches and small resorts, but also famous Mar Menor, closed hot lagoon, known for its salts.

Spanish coast

Or you can check out Costa del Sol, or ‘Sunshine Coast’, probably the best known Spanish costa along the area of Malaga. Famous tourist destination in whole Europe, it is also sailing paradise and southernmost coast before Atlantic. Of course, on Atlantic coast you’ll find fair share of costas, like Costa Vasca, or Basque Coast, with small villages and long sand beaches. There are also costas that are not in ‘big 10’, like coast of Canary Islands or Balearic coast, with big sailing centers like Mallorca.
