Requirements for bareboat charter

If you want to experience bareboat sailing in Greece, there are few things you must know.

You need to have

  • ICC

A couple of useful information:

  • Some Greek port authorities require two ICC licenses - one for a skipper and for crew member.
  • Since 2010 Harbor authorities in Greece no longer accept national equivalent to International Certificate of Competence (ICC), they only accept ICC.
But, all national permissions can be easily converted to ICC.
  • Licenses issued outside Europe, such as American license ASA 104, are not accepted, but those kind of licenses can also be converted to ICC. The only exception are RYA (Royal Yachting Association of United Kingdom) licenses and certificates.
