Why is Thailand one of the most attractive places to sail?
Thai islands are well-known all around the world. They have numerously hidden and protected beaches that will unwind you and bring you peace of mind. Nevertheless, you will be able to find places that are remote and desolate, with beautiful sandy beaches and tropical greenery. The views of the crystal-clear sea and tall cliffy islands will certainly persuade you to revisit the islands.

Sailing season and climate
Thailand has a tropical climate and so it is generally quite hot, particularly between the months of March and May with April being the hottest month (30°C/86°F). Although it is possible to sail around the Thai islands all year round, there are some climate changes that need to be taken into consideration in order to know when the most suitable period is to visit.
Phuket and Koh Chang archipelago are best to visit during the Northeast monsoon, which starts in November and goes through to the end of April. In May, you can see the transition from the Northeast to the Southwest monsoon and the weather begins to be more unpredictable, however, on the bright side, the period between May to November is considered to have lower costs and fewer tourists. Most of the mainstream tourists visit during Christmas and New Year’s holidays which is considered the peak season when charter prices are highest.
The Koh Samui cruising ground is at its best during the Southwest monsoon which begins to arise in June and then starts fluctuating in September.

A few of the best sailing areas in Thailand
Phuket is the largest island in Thailand with a land area of approximately 540 square kilometers.
The Koh Chang archipelago is a must see cruising ground.
Koh Samui is Thailand’s self-styled boutique island. With its ‘coconut life’ feel, it offers a prosperity of high-end spas, restaurants, and every imaginable luxury.
Phuket is the largest island in Thailand with a land area of approximately 540 square kilometers. While in Phuket, you must visit Kata Noi beach which is a small bay just a short drive from Kata beach. Despite its size, the scenery is breathtaking, and taking walks along the beautiful sandy beach or going for a swim is just the remedy!
The Nai Harn Beach is situated in the South of the island and is quite a popular beach with thousands of visitors annually even though it is relatively untouched and maintains a lot of its originality. You will also find various restaurants with popular Thai cuisine as well as various souvenir shops selling local novelty items in addition to beachwear and floats.
If you have time on your hands, the Big Buddha is a must-visit! It is one of the most famous landmarks in Phuket, sitting at the top of the Nakkerd Hills and standing in front of a forty-five-meter tall statue and the best part is that you are able to get a panoramic view of the island from the top of the hill!
The Koh Chang archipelago is a must-see cruising ground. There are 52 islands in the combination of a balmy tropical climate with the lovely hospitality of the Thai people, deserted long white sandy palm tree-lined beaches, secluded anchorages, and an abundance of restaurants and resorts that offer a prime selection of Thai cuisine.
If you are into snorkeling, you will find a living coral reef at most of the anchorages and an abundance of marine life. For a sharper and deeper view, you can arrange diving with the local dive operators.
Beyond the overflowing beaches, resorts, and tropical rainforest walks, the area is of historical significance. Koh Chang is situated in what was once called the “Gulf of Siam”, which borders with Cambodia and the influence of the Chinese traders of old and stories of piracy remains alongside the Japanese occupation during the second world war, and the French occupation of Indochina (Laos, Cambodia, and Vietnam). We believe that the best way to describe the island with one individual word is “Magical”.
Koh Samui is Thailand’s self-styled boutique island. With its ‘coconut life’ feel, it offers a prosperity of high-end spas, restaurants, and every imaginable luxury. Koh Samui is not only known to pamper the weary traveler but also for having the surrounding waters dedicated as a yacht cruising ground to the yacht chartering community.
The Koh Samui cruising area includes the islands of Koh Phangan which is well known for its edgy full moon parties and the island of Koh Tao which is a world-renowned diving destination. We would also like to introduce the virtually unheard island group of the Ang Thong Marine Park, which rivals the beauty of Phang Nga Bay. The islands are unmissable highlights of the Phuket cruising area. The Ang Thong Marine Park is simply spectacular and is on the list of “must do’s” among the yacht charter community. With its limestone atolls and breathtaking geography, it will not remain a secret for a long period of time, therefore, head there before the crowd! Koh Samui is serviced by its’ international airport, which makes it an easy destination to get to, combine your charter with a little bit of luxury and pamper yourself at one of the many world esteemed spa resorts.
