About this program
This is a 7-day sailing trip starting from Mallorca and is meant for people who love to go island-hopping while on vacation. The sailing route starts and ends on Saturday. When you find your yacht, you may want to choose a bareboat or skippered yacht charter, or even luxury yachts charters, to follow the route.
Please note that all restaurants and activities listed are only suggestions and are not included in the charter price. The trip can be changed according to your wishes and current weather, meaning stops can be added or removed.
We can arrange a transfer from the Airport to the marina for you. The transfer is usually not included in the yacht charter price.
About the route
Sailing holidays in Mallorca – ideal sailing area for beginners
Mallorca is the largest Balearic island with almost one million inhabitants that live in 53 different municipalities. As a highly recognised sailing destination, it offers beautiful sand beaches, crystal clear sea and beautiful rocky coastline.
Besides lively capital Palma de Mallorca, it has many small villages worth to visit. Every place hides different story and tries to preserve its traditions.
Mallorca has a Mediterranean climate, mild winters and warm summers. The best sailing period is from May till October. We recommend you to take two relaxing sailing weeks and to sail anti-clockwise to use strong NW tramontane wind.
Seaside places not to be missed: Palma de Mallorca, Portocolom, Cabrera, Pollença, Sóller.
Recommendable inland places: Campos, Valldemossa, Andratx, Deià, Capdepera, Fornalutx, Tramuntana mountain.
Itinerary
Day 1. Palma de Mallorca
Palma de Mallorca is the capital of the Autonomous Community of the Balearic Islands. It is an ideal starting point for your sailing vacation, offering many interesting places to see. Its medieval history is still preserved in the city’s representative architecture.
Day 2. Palma de Mallorca – Cabrera
National Park of Cabrera with 19 inhabited islands and islets, is the largest nature park in Spain. It is a well-known seabird nesting habitat for more than 130 distinct seabirds. Cabrera is a highly protected area; a home to numerous endangered species of plants and animals, including unique insect and lizard species.
With its untouched rocky coastline and clean seawater, it is considered as one of Spain’s best-preserved areas and is frequently described as a paradise on earth.
Only boats can travel to Cabrera, and a sailing permission must be purchased in advance. Since there is no berthing allowed, reserve a mooring buoy before you arrive.
Day 3. Cabrera – Cala Figuera
If you wish to avoid crowded areas then we definitely suggest you to visit Cala Figuera, hidden Mallorcan jewel. Small fisherman’s village with 800 inhabitants kept the Mallorcan sharm as it once was.
Day 4. Cala Figuera – Portocolom
Fishing villiage of Portocolom has its roots in ancient roman period when its bay served as a boats shelter. It is one of the prettiest Mallorcan villages today, serene and welcoming with its brightly colored homes. There are many sights to see there, including the beautiful beaches and heritage sites.
Day 5. Portocolom – Es Trenc and Campos
Do not miss the nearby Es Trenc beach, one of the nicest natural beaches in Mallorca. Its three kilometer-long stretch of white sand beach and unspoiled natural surroundings give it a enormous attractiveness. Since it can get crowded, try to go there early in the morning.
The nearest towns are inland Campos and SA Rapita with very nice sandy beach.
Day 6. Campos – Port d’Andratx and Town of Andratx
Before heading to Port d’Andratx, we suggest you stop for a swim in Cala Pi, a small seaside resort built around a beautiful sandy bay.
Port d’Andratx is one of the luxuriest and stylished ports in Mallorca with more than 450 berths. It is a great place to experience fine dinning and great cocktails. A few kilometers away is the lovely historic town of Andratx, which is located in the Tramuntana Mountain.
Day 7. Town of Andratx – Palma de Mallorca
Return to Palma de Mallorca and make the most of your final day by exploring city’s highlights you missed before.
