5-day Itinerary from Mykonos

Mykonos is one of the most popular and visited island not only in Greece but worldwide. Its famous reputation is well based on Mykonos history, unique archeological sites, specific Cycladic architecture and beautiful sandy beaches.
Mykonos is part of more than 200 Cyclades islands which are explored by many sailors especially among experienced ones.

Dry northern wind Meltemi can be quite challenging during summer months of July and August. Therefore for beginner sailors and families with kids we reccomend to sail in preseason or postseason.

Crewed or Bareboat
All-inclusive or Self-catered
Amazing scenery

Creating a 5-day sailing itinerary from Mykonos can be an exciting and rewarding experience for those who love the sea. The first step in planning this itinerary is to choose your yacht and then decide whether you want to go for a bareboat or skippered charter.

If you have experience sailing and navigating, a bareboat charter can provide you with the flexibility to set your own itinerary and explore the islands at your own pace. On the other hand, if you prefer a more relaxed sailing experience, a skippered charter allows you to sit back and enjoy the journey while an experienced skipper takes care of navigating the boat.

Regardless of the charter type, it’s essential to plan and research the best places to visit, taking into consideration the weather conditions, sea currents, and your personal preferences. Keep in mind that the best time to sail in Greece is from April to October when the weather is warm and the sea is calm. It is important to mention that Cyclades can get affected with the Meltemi winds during July and August and that period of year is suitable for experienced sailors.

Itinerary

Mykonos

Day 1: Embarcation in Mykonos

Mykonos is amasing town with impressive white small buildings, narrow streets, pintoresque souvenir shops and small churches with red rooftops. It is also a party town with vivid nightlife and shopping mecca for all trendsetters.

Mykonos town is easily reachable from Mykonos international airport and ferry port, around 10 minutes drive.
Do not miss to see Windmills of Mykonos, one of the symbols of the city situated at the outlines of the city.
Also, take a city stroll and visit Little Venice, lively neighbourhood with many restaurants and bars by the sea and enjoy Mykonos white sand beaches (Paradise beach, Ornos Beach, Platis Jalos).

Island of Naxos

Day 2: from Mykonos to Naxos

Largest Cycladic island offers variety of landscapes, beautiful sand beaches and rich history. Naxos satisfies all travel enthusiasts since there is always something to see and do in Naxos. In a shadow of other much more popular Cycladic islands, Naxos is actually a hidden gem. It is less crowded and the prices are resonable.

While on Naxos we suggest to explore mountain villages of Apiranthos and Mili (or Myloi) and visit Agia Anna Beach or Agios Gorgios Beach.

Koufonisia

Day 3: from Naxos to Koufonisia

Koufonisia is a group of two small islands Ano Koufonisi and Kato Koufonisi. These islands are known for their pristine beaches, crystal-clear waters, traditional architecture, and a tranquil atmosphere. Koufonisia is often considered a hidden gem in the Cyclades, offering a peaceful and authentic Greek island experience away from the bustling crowds.

The islands’ natural beauty, traditional charm, and relaxed atmosphere make them a popular destination for those seeking a tranquil getaway.

We would suggest exploring the walking paths and trails on Pano Koufonisi. Hiking to vantage points can offer breathtaking views of the Aegean Sea and surrounding islands.

Paros

Day 4: Explore Paros

Around approximately 37 nautical miles from Pano Koufonisi you will find yourself in another Cycladic paradise island, Paros. It is a land of beautiful beaches, whitewashed small houses and historic sites. We reccomend you to visit Paroikia or Naoussa, traditional port towns.

We suggest taking a road trip in Paros for visiting the best Paros beaches (Livadia Beach, Anargyroi Beach (Naoussa), Beach Agia Irini (Palm Beach)

Delos

Day 5: from Paros to Delos

For all cultural heritage lovers Delos is a island not to be missed. Whole island is protected by UNESCO, as world heritage site. Very well preserved archeological ruins in Delos are the most exceptional proof of old Greek civilisation. It is a sacred place where Greek gods of Apollo and Arthemis were born.

For the last day of your sailing trip we suggest relaxing on Skinos Beach and Playa de Ormos Schinou on Rineia.
